For history you need to read pages 46 - 52 in your textbook and answer the following questions:
#2 on page 49
#1 and 2 on page 53
For math you have to investigate and answer the following dice game question:

Grade 7 Math
You must complete any work you did not complete in class today. You were assigned question 1 on page 168. You were also given another graph to complete in class. I will be looking at both graphs you've had for homework on Monday.

Grade 6, 7 & 8 Math - Graphing
In all the math classes today we collected primary data about the students. For homework, all students are to choose a set of data (from two possibilities) and complete a graph. I explained to each class what type of graph I would like them to use for the data they collected. We have discussed the essential elements of all graphs and they should check to make sure that they have included those in their graph.
If they forgot to take the data sheet home or have lost it, I would suggest that they call/visit/text/Facebook a classmate to get the information.
Everyone's graph is due tomorrow in math class.

Grade 7 Math - Geometry Test
There will be a math test on Thursday. Students must study the following skills and knowledge:
- construct parallel, perpendicular and intersecting lines using different methods,
- sort and classify triangles and quadrilaterals, according to sides, angles and symmetry,
- bisect angles using a variety of methods,
- construct or identify congruent triangles using side and angle information (side-side-side or side-angle-side or angle-side-angle)
- demonstrate that you can reduce or enlarge a shape to create a similar shape,
- identify and compare similar and congruent shapes.

Math Homework Club
Mr. Marshall will be having a math homework club at lunchtime recess every Day 1. So, the next three meetings, before the holidays, will be Dec. 8, 16 and 23. When you are finished your lunch you can wait at the office until 12:00, when I will be coming up to my room.
You can work on math homework. You can ask for extra help. You can work on bonus, more advanced material. Anything math related will be fine.

Grade 6 & 7 Math - Rotational Symmetry
Grade 6 - Construct, using a ruler, a shape that has rotational symmetry of order 2, but it cannot be a rectangle. Use the tracing paper I gave you to help.
Grade 7 - Construct, using a ruler, a shape that has rotational symmetry of order 3, but it cannot be a triangle. Use the tracing paper I gave you to help.

Grade 7 Math Test - Bisecting Angles
We have been learning how to bisect angles using six different methods:
i. use a protractor
ii. use a Mira
iii. fold your paper
iv. use a straight-edge to create a rhombus
v. use a ruler to create an isosceles triangle
vi. use a compass
Tomorrow the students will have to bisect three angles using three different methods, but they will not know which of the three methods they will have to use until the test.

Gr. 7 Math Quiz Retake
For those students who would like to improve their mark for the unit conversions quiz, there is a retake tomorrow. You have to know conversions for linear and area measurements, just like last time.
Friday, November 4
Gr. 7 Math - Venn diagram shapes
1. Place the shapes you were given in the correct section of the Venn diagram that you drew in class. Explain why the Venn diagram is organized the way that it is. (e.g. why is the trapezoid section separate from the parallelograms? why do the squares go in an overlapped section? etc.)
2. How could you change a rectangle or parallelogram to make it into a trapezoid?
2. How could you change a rectangle or parallelogram to make it into a trapezoid?

Gr. 7 Math - Conversion
In your own words, explain how to convert a measurement in mm (millimetres) to dam (dekametres).

Math Tests
The Grade 6, Grade 7 and Grade 8 students all have math tests tomorrow. They were told in class today what would be covered on their test. You should be able to study just from your notes, however you may also look up the topics in your textbook index and use those questions to supplement your studying.
