Grade 6 Science
Complete "Electrical Circuits Inquiry" sheet and "Make a Circuit" worksheet for Friday, April 27th. You will be getting your most recent Electricity Quiz back on Friday, April 27th. It must get signed by your parents. I will be checking for signatures next week.

Grade 6 Science - GET TEST SIGNED
The students received their Air and Flight final unit test back today. All tests must be signed by a guardian for Tuesday, April 24th.

Grade 6 Science TEST - Air and Flight
Your Air and Flight unit test will be on Tuesday, April 3rd.
Students have been given a review in class. We went over all the worksheets they should have, as well as recorded the chapters and pages in the text book they should be studying. We have also been making up "mock" tests in small groups in order to help the students study.
Handouts/Worksheets:
-Air and Flight Booklet ("The Wonders of Flight")
-A Field Guide to Common Aircraft
-Basic Movements of an Airplane (on the back of this sheet are "Fast Facts")
Video:
-Jot notes on the "Flight" video we watched in class (we watched this video twice in order to take proper jot notes)

-pages 1-16

Grade 6 Science - GET QUIZ SIGNED
Do not forget to get your quiz signed by your parents/guardians. It does not matter if you received an A or a D...everyone must have it signed! I will be checking for signatures on Tuesday, Feb 28th.

Those students who missed Science class on Thursday, make sure you have all your jot notes complete from pages 4-5 and 8-9 in your textbook. You will have a quiz next Science class (Wednesday, Feb 1st).

Grade 6 Science Project - Arthropod Poster
Your task is to create an orginal Arthropod and a poster to advertise this new species.
Your poster will have the following information on it:
1) the name of your new arthropod (title)
2) a coloured, labelled, neat and organized diagram of your arthropod
3) What does the arthropod eat? What eats the arthropod?
4) What is its habitat?
5) What is its life cycle?
6) What unique adaptation does it have to fight off predators?
*** Don't forget that your arthropod must have a minimum of 2 of the 5 arthropod characteristics (jointed legs, segmented body parts, compound eyes, specialized mouth parts, exoskeleton)
I will be giving you the good copy poster sheet on Friday. In the mean time, start brainstorming ideas and perhaps doing rough copies. You will be given the entire Science class to work on it.
DUE: Tuesday, November 1st, 2011.

Over the long weekend, you are expected to collect a variety of fallen leaves in your yard/neighbourhood. We will be doing a classifying activity on Tuesday in Science.
