There is also now a chart outlining the marking systems that you will be seeing throughout the year on your student's work.

Gr. 8 Math - Balloon Prices
Here is the question I asked in class:
Lola bought a balloon at the carnival. She paid with 6 coins.
What might Lola have paid for her balloon?
(We determined that $0.06 was the cheapest balloon and $12.00 was the most expensive.)
I asked you to find ALL the possible amounts for homework but I've realized that's too much.
So, I would like you to find at least 50 possible amounts.
You must also find several amounts, between six cents and twelve dollars, that are not possible.

Curriculum Night - Meet the Teacher: Thursday, Sept. 22nd
Just a reminder to parents and students that we will be having our annual Meet the Teacher/Curriculum night tomorrow. There will be an informal gathering outside with staff from 6:15 to 6:30 in front of the school.
There will then be two information sessions per class. The presentation will be the same in each session but will allow families with more than one child to meet as many teachers as possible.
The first session will be from 6:30 to 6:55.
The second session will be from 7:00 to 7:25.
We hope that all of our grade 6, 7 and 8 parents will be able to attend.
